Homeward Bound

DSCF5482We awoke on Saturday morning to nothing but the sound of birdsong, and slipped away from our overnight mooring, leaving our neighbour fishing off the back of their boat. Just a couple of hours later we were slipping into a slot at Fenny Compton. Catty resumed her job of Hedge Watching but we had a mission to complete… to return the car to Banbury and to meet our friend Allison who, in turn, ferried us back to Fenny.

DSCF5485Sunday morning we made our way back with Allison down through Claydon (no doubt disturbing a fishing match) to Cropredy where we stayed overnight, meeting up with Jan, Ed & Jim at the Brasenose later on to form Jimmy Riddle’s Gang for the quiz night. Between us we achieved a creditable joint second and also had success in the Meat Raffle and The Joker.

DSCF5480Monday morning saw us popping back to Banbury town centre where Joy & Allison enjoyed the shops while I had to mind the boat.  (Such a shame!)

Allison had to go home Tuesday so it was bye-bye and back down to Tramway. Then it was back to work for me on Wednesday and looking forward to our main summer trip in July.
