Summer Cruise 2013 – Day 21 & 22

The last two days have been ‘rest’ days from our journey, topping up store cupboards, doing washing and other necessary stuff and it has given us the chance to catch up with friends and neighbours and enjoy the glorious sunshine which we continue to have. Catty has enjoyed being home, patrolling her patch and seeing her friend Millie the Staffy who’s taken on the role of Catty’s minder if other ‘barky’ dogs walk past.

On Sunday morning our son Jeremy [alias The Boatman] called en route to London for a job on Monday and we also met up with Bones who was passing through.

DSCF4523Chores and socialising completed we set off southwards once more on our journey, in the late afternoon sunshine, with the modest target of Nell Bridge. Even Catty declared it was hot eschewing the fresh air on the roof hatch and opting to put her feet up in the shade of our bedroom.

Passing through Kings Sutton lock, we noticed the cottage had a sold sign outside and we moored up for the night almost opposite The Pig Place, with an excellent TV, phone and internet signal and the M40 murmuring in the background.
